does anybody know how many were made and is there any person on the forum who worked for mamod

according to the bible they were made between 1957-79
total production 70,530 replaced in march 79 with the SP5

I am entering the Mamod fold I guess, I like my Jensens the best, but I own more Mamods, two SR1a, one OW1, and very soon a SE1a ( I won the auction for $27, I think thats a decent price )

John the bible is the book called MAMOD the story of marlins models
by P S Malins.
they come up on ebay occasionly usualy sell for around £30

the book is no longer in print

We've sought of given it a nickname "the bible"

It's a damn good book. Getting a copy is the hardest part though they sometimed fetch silly prices on ebay and the world does need more copies!

Yeah.... I think every company goes through a sticky patch. Don't forget though, when Mamod were running in the 60's there were no real English competition. Now they have competition from everyone

Are there several companies in britain manufacturing now?
