Mamod Slide valves - (mobiles)The only disappoint I have toward them is- whenever I get steam up , I see the green paint near the sv and union nut start to lift and bubble. I try my best not to disturb that area much.

Yep, Mamod paint is a funny thing. With some engines it seems very solid and with the next, it just loves to flake.

Just a guess here.
I don't think there is much you can do, other than be real careful when filling it.
Maybe water has got under the paint (through a crack/flaw in the paint) and is heating up which causes it to bubble and lift.
Paint that isn't heatproof will lift and get blisters when heated, but will only do it once, as it bakes on after it first blisters.

Its happened on one of my old TE1a's I think it would be where some people have gone to put the safety valve in and either chipped or scratched the paint, then its lifted of.
Not much you can do, either touch it up or leave as is.
