Mamod SP5D 2002.

I have just acquired this SP5D, it leaves me just two of the SP series left to get.(I think).
It didn't come with the box or funnel but did include the oil, leaflets and some solid fuel.

Nice8)

our school uses one near exact to that

the teacher  was wondering  why solid fuel kept popping

Looks proper that.
I notice the steam delivery pipe is of a larger bore, how does it steam compared to an SE3?

me too good question the pipe is a lot larger than my se3 pipe

Never seen an SP5D close up, great buy Les

No reverse for obvious reasons.
My SP5 runs really well, the pipe on this one seems bigger i agree
Les

It only arrived yesterday and I haven't steamed it yet, I am saving it for the weekend. The steampipe doesn't look original
to me though. The burner is a beast and would eat solid fuel and the sticker underneath shows the manufacturing date.
Although the sight glass looks rough it appears to be water tight as it arrived over half full of water.

Les

The difference in size to a SP5 and SE3 burner.

That's a mighty burner Les it was half full of water  I bet that did not help on the cost  of the p+p .

It didn't help but I did feel I got a bargain on the engine though.
