Mamod TE1 1967 (ish)

Hi All,
I'm new here so thought i'd post some pics of my TE1, It's a straight lever model with a riveted boiler and valve type whistle and meth burner, I believe it to be around 1967 although am unsure.
I got it from an old guy having a clearout, its in good shape but hasn't run for some time.
This weekend will be its first start up at the Masham Traction Engine Rally to say I am excited is an understatement!
Alas enough yap time for pics:

A great engine you have there, looks to be one of the earliest transition TE1A's you have there, seeing the straight lever reverser, old style whistle and TE1 still on the smokebox. 1967 sounds right for that   (i think).

Welcome to the forum

The only thing thing that I can see missing is the suspension on the front forks.
Nice engine and with a clean up I should imagine it will look pretty good

Thanks all for the warm welcome, its good to know a little about my engine  . I'll hopefully get a video of it steaming this weekend so i will add that too.

The plan is polish all the brass and the pitted firebox, touch up / repaint the wheels and then run it.

A big Scottish welcome to the forum.

The Mamod TE has given more toy steamers the steam bug than any other model.

Thanks Sandman,
Appreciate the welcome, yeah so it would seem, My friend at school had an SR1 and that got me hooked but being a big traction engine fan I had to have the TE1.

I have 2 video's of it steaming up and running which i will upload tonight, it ran really well, goes like the clappers, but i just had it ticking over as i suspect it was it's first run in a long time.

Just need a new release valve washer/o ring as it started to corrode after the first steaming. I guess it's because its been stood idle so long that once the steam wetted it it just gave out.

But thats no real drama i'm very pleased with it.
