Mamod58's 2 tables - FinishedThe theme of my table this year is 'Timber!'.
Some of the process that timber goes through.
After the timber has been cut down it needs to be loaded on wagons to be taken to the saw bench.
One method is 'Rolling them up' using the winch on the traction engine.
Transporting the timber to the saw bench. The timber needs to off loaded and this can be done using a steam crane.
The timber is now at the saw bench being worked on.
Hopefully part 2 tomorrow.

Continuing the story of 'Timber!' with table number 2.
Once the timber is cut into manageable pieces then it can be made into numerous items such as furniture.
When moving house the house holder usually uses a furniture removals company.
Another use of timber is agricultural machinery such as a threshing machine.
Produce from farms and industry need to be transported. Timber can used to make barrels and packing case for the transportation of these items.
Over millions of years man has discovered that trees are a renewable source of food, energy and building material.
