Marking as readHas anyone figured out how to get the forum to not mark everything as read as soon as you log out?
I just wanted to send a pm, and read the posts later. Now when I log in later, it is going to have marked all of the threads as read.
Has anyone figured out how to get this to stop happening?
It is really annoying.

Are you able to just keep your internet open to the forum page?
I usually leave this page up and leave for hours and I am still logged in.

Sure... if the provider does not knock me off line, or my daughter or wife don't close the browser while I am away.
So not practical.

The only thing that can be done is being done, complaining
I also wish we had bigger Inboxes for PMs, as the one we have now fills up too fast.

As already said that is a 'feature' of this forum and something we can't fix.
What I did was extend session times to 2 hours so as long as you don't log out they should remain unread for 2 hours.
The latest version of Phpbb may fix the problem but it will be a while before we upgrade.

*sigh*
Bummer. I should have figured as much. At least I am not alone.

What I do to solve part of the problem is to go to my e-mails first, open the Forum via a 'notification of a topic' message which then opens a new window. If I accidentally close the Forum window I can re-open it via the emails again and it retains the unread posts as I didn't close the original link.
