I use a lighter, but it's the cheap ones for a pound I buy from a shop in town
Buying matches is a little trickier anyway. You have to go to a newsagents, or swipe free packs from pubs

I use matches, but if outdoors in windy weather, I'll borrow a lighter

I use matches, mainly because the lighter I used to use is knackered. Being a non-smoker, it's not worth my while replacing it. Besides, since starting to use matches, I find them a lot easier, especially for vapourising burners and tablets. The only problem is you have to keep the box dry (not so easy around steam engines).

That's true!
I have used them quite a bit, annoying when they won't light and the match snaps

I use the stove in the kitchen because I used all the matches in the house up ages ago. So the stove is classed as a lighter really.

Zippos are guaranteed for life. My uncle had one he bought in the sixties. A few years ago he dropped it in the road where it was run over and crushed by a vehicle, so it wasn't even a product defect. He sent it back to Pensylvania, they honoured the guarantee and replaced it.
Nice one Zippo.
