ME2 restoration job Mostly completeI'm sure you will remember the boat anchor ME2 that I bought off ebay for about 50 quid. Well it's been sitting around for a while so last week I finally decided to clean and restore her up. Not really my kind of engine, but worth breaking away from the trend just to get my hands on something rare
Removing the rust was pretty much the hardest part, the base was quite pitted and rusted in places, but I managed to get a decent enough finish in the end.
I used Ford Radiant red for the base, and some engine gloss black for the firebox. Can't remember the make of the black paint off hand..... but it goes on a treat.
As it arrived:[/b
The cowl is pretty much dead as you can all see. I will try and make or look for a replacement at some point. Doesn't look too hard to replicate. One small solder job to complete as I needed to de-solder the pipe to clean the boiler.
[b]After:
Just need to get a cowl for it and it should definatly look the part

i think you put the cowl on the wrong way around.... the opening for the burner should be on the oposite side to the piston.... lol if u look at the picture when it was rusty... it was on the other way around but nice job all the same
