Cheers Mike! I'm going to add some more tools as and when I buy them

Watch this space more to come
SPOKESMAN

Defo need some more tools! Make the SE3 WORK!!
Wallace

Great stuff mm. Well done

Well I should get my meccano in about a week. Can start then
Wallace

Did you use drive bands for it MM? Or string or elastic bands?
Mamodman123

Wallace wrote:

I used proper steel drive bands

I think one from the SE3 crank to the blue flywheel is binding a tiny bit it's getting a little tricky to start the engine now!

If or when I disconnect that monster from the SE3 I think it will go so fast it will take off
Wallace

Hmmmm

I may have to invest in some more drive bands

Yes, always an idea. I had a few spare i've accumilated through the years
Dauntless

all the bands I've had with engines have all been knakered and twisted!
I've bought all new ones

Luck of the draw I guess.....

I seem to get knackered threads instead. I think I know what i'd prefur
Dauntless

yeah, but would I ???

Mamodman123

Well, depends if like soldering threads or not , clear advantage is you can make them yourself
Dauntless

true true!

Still, I guess when you solder them up, they won't break again for a while, providing it's done properly

I just bought 10 of them.
Did you cut any of yours, or just adjust meccano to suit length?
Not to keen on cutting them. Not sure how they'll go
Mamodman123

I made sure all the meccano was within the correct length of each lineshaft, so no cutting was needed
Mamodman123

Added a steam hammer to the creation today, running at a nice speed aswell
MTA

must have geraed it well to run it that slow, or was this at the end of the run?

Nope geared MTA

That was the height of its run, I need to adjust a cog because its binding quite badly
Wallace

Great MM.

Geared very nicely.

Will be having mine run slow too. Problem is I hope I can get a big enough pulley on my shaft to get the polisher and grinder running fast, as all tools will be off same shaft

Ive added a grinder on the lineshaft going the other way and it does actually grind atop layer off lead

No pencil is graffite these days.

I skimmed the top layer off a lead strip of metal

LOL, nice one.
Mamodman123

Here is the meccano creation with the saw added

Enjoy..............

SPOKESMAN

Great!! Although I think the saw needs to go a little faster?
Mamodman123

SPOKESMAN wrote:

Possibly a little faster yes Mike

I'll have to put a bigger pulley on the top because the flywheel is so big on the saw. Although it's not too bad, it got around 1/2 way through a match stick at that speed. It's not as bad as some people made out anyway
Lewis

like mike said mm bit faster other than that looks great
