meccano gear 27d or 27dp

these gears are 1 5/8 in dia and have 60 teeth .... i think it almost impossible to spot them in a ebay listings with other spur gears such as the 27 a ...so if anyone has a few spares ???...please pm.

IIRC that part was a special for use in the clock kit and was never part of the standard numbered kits. It goes with a 15 tooth pinion to give a 4:1 ratio. Both are pretty rare so you're unlikely to find anybody with "a few spares"!

i've dealth with this bloke....got my flywheel segments and boiler ends on my steam engine project from him...   had no issues with the transaction.  quality of these bits seems fine. had to wait a few weeks till he got sufficient orders for a production run of the flywheel segments, but they came through eventually.

hmmmm? thanks for the info roly...actually im trying to fit up gears to a mec1....stock standard the mec1 came out with a 15 tooth pinion and hense a 60 tooth is needed to fit up a standard mec1.... i know a 19 and 57 work but a bit higher geared... and meccano put out the mec1 fitted with a 15 tooth .... so i have four mec1s with 15 tooth pinions and no 60 tooth.... meccano man lists them but he is never open when i am.

OK, I didn't know they were also used in the MEC1. That would mean they are probably not as rare as I thought. I still think they never appeared in the standard sets.

according to my information
part 27d  60 teeth standard issue in set 9a and 10 from 1945  only 1 piece per set

very well dennis.thankyou. i will will check it out for availability in due time ....its listed at 10 pounds fifty plus postage each....some of my mec1s havent arrived yet so i will wait till they arrive.
