Oh dear! Another pile of scrap metal from various eras.
The yellow powerdrive motor is missing its front plastic slide piece that holds the gear selectors in place and may or may not work.
On the traction engine, the front artillery wheels might be of interest to someone but they look pretty grotty as does most of the rest of it. I cant see an electric motor at the front axle; I do see two flanged wheels and a red cylinder.
I might give £20 tops for the lot if I was desperate for the brassware.

As Douglas says, fairly grotty looking lot but I disagree on the value of this one, not so badly priced. Those hub discs (large wheels) are worth a fiver each in that condition and there are four of them. A few brass bits, a UJ and some gears, soon ads up...
£40.00 don't sound too bad. I do agree that the Powerdrive motor is probably not worth considering, without its selector ring the gears can be selected in multiples and will lock up usually resulting in stripping the teeth.

Never tried it but just looking at a power drive I wonder whether you could use an elastic band to hold the selectors in place if you are missing the selector ring.
Basically you want to keep one in place and prevent the others sliding.
Just a thought.

Tony,
I am sure that would work, the problem with this one is that the chances are it has been run without anything so there is a good chance the damage has already been done. Those motors are famous for destroying the 60:1 gear chain the moment the output shaft encounters any kind of resistance...

Ralph's valuation just goes to prove what he was saying in another thread that it is all in the eye of the beholder. Red hub discs are the wrong colour for me and I have all the brassware I conceivably need, so hence my valuation is lower.
All the best for the New Year (when it comes) to all the steam powered Meccano afficionados. Or, as we say around here, lang may yer lum reek!
