Meet Mamodman

MY real name is James and I live in Nuneaton....(trying to make the best out of a bad situation). I am 6ft 1" tall and around 11 and a half stone if any of you were wondering. I am currently job seeking (taking longer than i hoped) Something will turn up soon, probably an office job or soemthing with computers .

I have been collecting Mamods for around 5 years, It all started when I was given a Mamod SE3 at the age of around 8...I completely wreaked it, glued in safety valves, taped up whistles, put bolts in overflow plugs, you name it I did it. The SE3 was then put away (probably for its own good) then one day I got it out and decided to fix the mess me and my brother made as a child. I looked on ebay for "mamods" and bought a TE1a after it arrived on a cold winter day I was officially hooked by the charm and character of a mamod. From there I have built my collection up and ruined many of mums table cloths! (sorry Ma). When i first started out I used to buy clean up and sell but now i'm after some of the rarer stuff! I still do sell the odd one or two on ebay though!

I am more of a stationary person but if someone wants to give me a 61 SR1 then I won't say no .

Here is a picture of my car, before anyone starts saying "chav" No i'm not, quite the opposite infact. I'll leave you with a few pics of my collection....enjoy:

Nope

Never in a million years i'm a "gentle giant"

Think my car needs a bit of a "tune up" whatever one of those is
tmuir

Come on MM I thought you said you were a Mamod fan.
Thats all you've managed to collect in 5 years.
I don't think your trying hard enough.

If you ever want to buy a house just bring your collection to OZ and sell them here and the money you would get would just about buy you a house.

Do that and everyone will point and shout. 'Tourist, Toiurist'
In the outback tourist shops they sell fly nets to wear under your hat to keep flys off your face. No local would be seen dead wearing one.

James

oldstuff

James, how good it is to learn a bit about you. You bring so many good qualities to the forum. Strength and a passionate dedication come to mind, but I think your willingness to instruct and help others positively invaluable to the forum. If there is head, a heart, and a spirit to the forum, you are it's heart. You have strong convictions and are not lacking of will, yet I've seen you bend and flex when necessary and the mixture = character. You have charisma, James. Your opinions are valued, your approval sought.
If ever a forum needed a Mamodman, this one does and you are it!
I'm laying it on thick, I know. So I'll end on a lighter note. It's not smoke I'm blowing up yer arse...it's steam. Also we have something in common besides steam. We're both at home on our arses without work and hating it! Best to you, James!

'Whats that skip?

Old man Jenkins has fallen down the well and is trapped?

You go get dad and I'll try and save him.'

The original skippy show skippy could do anything. The new show they just made him a regular kangaroo.

Here in Scotland everyone is Jim or Jimmy.

I stopped saying that after the following conversation in Stoke after the missus sent me to post a letter.

Driving down the road I saw a local, stopped and asked him.

"Hey Jim. Do you know where the nearest Post Office is??"

He repied. "How do you know my name is Jim?"

I said "I just Guessed"

He said "Well guess the way to the nearest Post Office then."

Never used the term since.

In Coober Pedy there are hundreds of holes/mineshafts. From the times of opal mining. People still do it too.

I want to add to your introduction, that you are great when it comes to boiler soldering too

BTW, why the comments on the chav type car?

Is that what they drive?

The equivalent of a chav here, drives just about any type of car from Gran Turismo. e.g WRX, Nissan Twin Turboed skylines, etc etc
James

Wallace, they drive crappy cars like so:
