Members using multiple accountsOk, first of all, I gotta say this post has no relation to ANY recent newbies posting.
The recent newbies have been great posting, giving info and so on.
Thanks guys
Now
Was having a look around, and going back to August, it seems there was 3 members posting from same ISP address at one point. (I found 2, Mamodman pointed out the third, thanks)
They clearly have no reason to either, meaning they aren't 3 different people sharing same computer. Well not that I know of anyway. 2 of the 3 just seemed to cause trouble.
I am not naming any other names, but mechE is one of the 2nd/3rd accounts.
But mechE's first and only post was a long winded scare mongering post about boiler safety in response to Mamodmans helpful tips.
It's in the past now.
But for future reference, any members please have one membership only, and stick with it.
Only one reason 1 person has multiple memberships, and that is to cause trouble.
If it's noticed again, such people will be named
If involved person has a problem please contact me or James, don't post here. At least you weren't named.

For someone like me (sometimes a little slow), does it matter that I use my home pc, my work pc and sometimes even one of my son's lap tops to gain access to the forum. Does that mean you have three different 'things' for me? Have I done something wrong?

No thats fine as long as you use the same login / username that is only one account.

Yea, I always login as me, just on different machines. Thought I might be the one causing problems!!!

It is all fine to log in using your normal username anywhere in the world on any different computer.
Having multiple user accounts isn't allowed though, so If I had:
Mamodman123 and Mamodman1234 that is NOT allowed
Cheers guys!

Sorry Manxman, no way it was you.
I know others have explained it, but it's just a case of one person, pretending to be someone else, or 2 someone elses
Say I created another account, Andrew (my real name), then jumped into a thread of a members engine resto, and getting into conversation, saying how crap it is.
So I as wallace, stating it's a nice resto. As Andrew, saying it's crap.
Why?
Well to cause trouble, beyond that, mentally, I'm not sure the reason behind it.
The only way it's legit, is 2 people, using the same net account, to post here. e.g. I daresay Mamodman, and his brother would do it, but that's fine. We know that they are brothers, and obviously use the same internet. Be the same if a Father and son, living under same roof each had an account here. That's expected.
The worse thing about it, is one of the 3 identities (not mentioned) had caused trouble, and a stir on these forums, making us look bad. Very very sad, I think. That's obviously the reason it was done, just purely to stir regular posters, make us retaliate, thus make the whole forum look bad.
Take away that identity and there would have just about been no troubles on these forums.
So now to quote James
any further trouble from the member/s will mean action will be taken

Probably isn't relevant, but I often open another window of the forum so I can find who's name I'm looking for while in the midst composing a post. So, I'll have two browser windows of the forum at the same time.

At any given times I'll have anything up to 10 windows open at one time(wonders of tabbed browsing) thats not an issue.
You could even log in on two different computers at the same time if you wanted to, as long as you only use one log in name its all good.
