Mersey whistle handleI have just bought a 52 R which has the whistle handle missing, can someone give me dimensions please and what material it should be fashioned from . Thanks

The whistle handle on my Mersey is made of wood, painted black and of the same design as seen on early Doll, Fleischmann etc. engines.
Total length: 23 mm
Diameter: 7 mm at furthest point from end with hole...tapering slightly to 5 mm near the end with hole. A 7 mm rim is present at the end with the hole.
Obviously it started life as a 7 mm dowel, with slight taper towards the base then the original thickness allowed to remain near base.
Top end is slightly domed.
I believe this could be easily made by chucking some dowel in a drill and holding a file at an angle leaving 1.5 mm rim of 7 mm diameter near base.
