Minnie traction engineAre Minnies still manufactured and can a person get missing parts for one if they were to find an incomplete engine that needed help?

Best place to look is here on Reeves website, think they do the the L C Mason book and drawings as well as the available castings.

One of our neighbours, who is a model engineer, suggests that you will find that BLACKGATES ENGINEERING still supply all the castings.
He uses them in preference to Reeves 2000 as they are better value for money.

Thanks guys. I may be picking up a Traction engine that is either incomplete or that has been robbed of parts. It is nice to know that I will be able to buy the castings that I will need to complete it.

If you do get it steaminon you should get the builders book called Scale Model Traction Engine Building Featuring "Minnie".
Its a great book and really helped me when I had a 2" Minnie.
Let us know if you get it

There are not many 2" Minnies.
By chance was yours the one sold on ebay a few years back and then multiple scammers attempted to re-sell it scamming bidders by hijacking your description and pictures taken on a wood deck?

Was a great first engine and something really unique on the rally field. I have never sold anything on ebay so wasn't me! (fortunately)

No, I have not acquired the engine yet. One of those deals that may or may not happen though I would like it to happen. It is also a 1" scale engine.

I might try and cast some parts soon.
Let us know what problems you have. I've got the book and a nearly complete model that comes apart. Though it's likely your missing the same parts.
