MM1's before and afterwent and picked up the 2 MM1's this morning on the way to work and will have to say for just over £28 there a bargain
the complete one looked like this (before)
the same engine after a quick clean
the second engine was just a pile of bits this morning
had a very good clean, bent the bits that hold the burner back into place and put it back together again

Very nice Will, all you need now is a couple of burners and a safety valve by the looks of it.

My wife is kindly posting your single wick burner today! I bought a very nice aftermarket narrow vap burner for my 1975 MM1 from Model Enthusiasts part number G23 http://www.modelenthusiasts.com/MAMOD-BURNER-G23-METHS-pr-337.html
