Thanks for that. Important for those interested in turbines.

Thanks. Although the manufacturer of my sole turbine (Empire) is gone it's handy to have the others all in one place.

It's something I've been tempted to experiment with in the past but they are always so <expletive deleted> expensive. They are basically simple but I suppose it's the accurate machining that costs

Technically, Jensen don't make their own turbines, good list though!

I don't think Wilesco do either but they are the brands they are sold under.
BTW, the Wilesco turbine is available as a spare part, but it's still not cheap for what it is:

I guess Jensen can supply theirs as a spare also.

Roly, Wolfgang engineering produce very reasonable turbines, in fact my latest one cost only $50 . However if you wanted to make your own then i think you are right about the machining aspect. Also all of these turbines listed are of the de Laval type, i don't know of anyone who makes scale Parson's type turbines which is probably due to the complexity and cost.
Nik, i'm aware that Jensen use a turbine designed by Karsten Gintschel but i still feel they should be included as they offer a complete setup and the turbine unit is not available separately.
Also this list is only for current makers, although i'm aware there have been past makers of turbines such as Empire and many others.

The Jensen turbine is the best rready set offer in my opinion

Useful list Philip...I had lost Karsten's original web address and didn't know the maker of the Proteus...thanks for putting them all in one place.

Swift Fox, forgive me. I didn't mean to say what your list should contain. I merely wanted to add the small amount of knowledge I have. I asked Jensen if my company could purchase several hundred turbines from them, but they explained that they do not make them themselves, and couldn't supply them in any large numbers.
Again, apologies!

That is quite reasonable. Was that new or second hand?

Nik, no need to apologise at all and everyone is welcome to add things to the list. I believe you managed to source your turbines from Wilesco in the end?, i remember you had that cool solar stirling engine too, anyway i'm going off a tangent here.
Roly, that turbine was new, Roger also bought one.
