Moors Valley Steam Gala.I was at the Moors Valley Steam Gala this weekend playing around on 'Duchess'. Although it rained overnight on Saturday we had a very enjoyable time.
There wasn't many full size engines, mostly miniature tration engines and loco's.
Full size.

I had a great time and the assistant is my eldest granddaughter Alanis and the tractor driver is my other granddaughter Megan.
The first thing they did on Saturday morning was have a 'wash' with the coal.

Brilliant pictures Les, you look right at home on the back of Duchess.
Fun day out it was, even though I only went on the sunday.
I shall see you at Canford with a lovely smooth engine.

Fantastic Pics, Les.
Really enjoyed this thread. Great to see Duchess again.
Good to see your granddaughters also. When I was starting the thread I was wondering who they were.
I will become a Grandfather in September. Not sure I feel old enough...... at least at heart.

Thank you, Richard, I was 38 when I became a Granddad for the first time they help keep you young so don't worry too much and congratulations.

To see the young ones beeing involved into our hobby is always a good sight ! The engines generally and the bigger ones especially are built to last a longer time than a lifespan so it is good to put the seed into well prepared ground for the next engineers to come !

in the first set of pictures (of traction engines), 5th from the bottom, is the one and only traction engine I have driven! Being a compound it had snap.
