Morning all!Hi everyone, just joined and I've got to say what a great forum this seems to be!
Anyway, I recently aquired a Mamod TE1A from my Grandad, it used to be his sons who last fired it up more than 20 years ago. I promised Gramps that I would clean it up and get it going again.
After a few problems (like repacking the burner tray due to absent wadding and finding a rubber washer for the safety valve) I got it up and running and it was wonderful . I have been playing with it nearly non-stop for the last couple of days lol.
I think I may have found a new hobby (ideal, more time spent in my shed )
Cheers
Baz from Devon, England

The wheels are already in motion regarding enlarging the collection!
I can't believe how little these things go for on the likes of ebay, seems a bit shameful really given that they are such lovely things.
still, that can only be a good thing for the enthusiast .
IndianaRog, I know Exeter very well, its half an hour up the road from me and is a lovely town/little city, though I daresay your Mum wouldn't recognise much of it now. Glad she is still going strong!
One of my Grandads cousins was whisked away by an American serviceman after the war who was staioned at Uppottery near Exeter and they moved to Pensylvania (sp).
Sorry for rabbiting on but thanks for the warm welcome peeps, I think I'll enjoy my stay!
