And another of my MSS Saddle Tank Golly Gosh.

Was it a cold day when you took that photo as that is a fair lot of steam coming out the safety valve?
I never get anything like that but then I live in Australia and it doesn't really get cold where I live.
Can we get some more photos of your layout please?

I reckon the saddletank looks best

For looks it has to be the saddletank!

If it is on a looks basis then it is the Saddle Tank, if it is on a running basis then it is the sidetank loco, as that very small steamchest nut on the Saddle Tank is the current cause of my excessive priming, that and a very short steam pipe which refuses to de-solder at present.

The sidetank for me, it's running ability over looks every time.

I have to agree with Chris I like the look of the saddle tank but the sidetanks seem to run better

Side tanks for me too, although the saddle tank does have charm.

Saddle tank for variety mainly
I think I would still rather buy an old Mamod loco over a MSS
