my 1957 SE3, Restored- Thanks to Graham (G&J)

My dad & I went over G&J's place, today- just a 20 min drive away.

Anyway, his beautiful dogs gave us a warm welcome.

Job done-

take off end cap solder inside of cap, put back on.

loctited engine crank. replaced sv washer.


She's going for a trip to the Aussie bush this Wednesday till Sunday-back home Sunday night.

Nice job fellas!

The pressed on crank on mine was loose....so i used loktite and drillled and tapped a grub screw into it also ...just like the other side....

Just ran the brakes off of it last night! I love the SE3!

Thanks every one for your good words and Im sure Clinton is very happy.
What I did to fix the leak was to clean the inside of the cap of all dirt and scale. I then smeared a good coating of solder paste  to the inside of the cap and heated till the solder had tinned the the whole inside surface. then cooled it down and cleaned off the flux added a bit more paste to the inside rim and pressed it back onto the boiler and heated it on. reassembled the engine and a short test run. Jobs a goodun
