My collection has become diverse!Up until now, the majority of my collection has been made up of Mamod and Wilesco engines.
Although this afternoon I took delivery of a Latimer Plane L4 (thanks Moosey!). Well packaged, and arrived on time. It was worth the £6 for next day delivery!
It is in superb condition, the paint is all there on the base, as well as the steam pipe (give or take a couple of scratches) and engine stand.
It has its original box, filler funnel and safety valve come chimney.
The painted steam pipe, which makes a nice change 
Rather than machining it down to make a narrow piston shaft, the piston and piston shaft is one complete rod!
The chimney has the safety valve pressed into the bottom, concealing it once screwed in. No doubt this has fooled many!

The brass flywheel is nice and chunky.
Who'd have thought this was made from two different engines

Nice engine.
I like the brass flywheel but maybe I'm biased as 8 of my engines have brass flywheels 
That's one to look after MTA.

Rel nice addition to the collection. Variety is the spice of Life. I am now enjoying several makes in my collection and enjoy the different aspects of each brand. If all were the same manufacturer they evntually seem to be so much alike.

Since joining the Mamod Steam Forum I've bought a considerably greater number of engines that are not Mamods than before .
Not sure Mr Malin's would be pleased.

Not to worry Richard.
THIS "Unofficial Mamod Forum" was the product of the "Official Mamod Forum" getting dumped one night without warning in the summer '06 I believe. It seems Mamod was not content for folks to have their say yea or nay about Mamod products...so they shut down the original forum. This one was started by James and a few buddies in response.
Therefore, since this forum was orphaned by Mamod...serves them right that so many other brands/owners have pulled up a stool and enjoyed the company of fellow steamers!!

I think I enjoy my Mamods more because of the Jensens, Fleischmann, Bowman, and Wilescos
IF it was only Mamods, I think that all of the topics would be old hat soon.

Excellent engine MTA. And, I agree with all the comments about trying and enjoying a whole range of engines. To be honest, it's one of the things I look for now. A model from somewhere or someone new is always a bit of fun and part of our hobby I really enjoy.

I enjoy my Mamods, and Bowmans and Fleischmann and Doll and SELs' and Bings' and DEO and all the others I have, what I like about this forum is it's diversity in engines and accessories.

correct, they had a firm grip around our necks on there, and they'd squeeze everytime something was posted that they didn't like.
We had bowmans on there some SEL models aswell as wilesco, I think, was primary mamod though. I hadn't even heard of Jensen!
