You have a Mamod 'William'?

What's it like? Run it now! Pictures! We need pictures!

And maybe a review comparing it to the SL1 maybe?
colinjamesporter

Yes I do have one we need to sort out our track before we run it. Will try and run it soon though
cheers colin
mc_mc

Wow that sounds a great collection (and you're only just starting out!).

Do you have an engine shed to put them all in?

Can we have some photos?
colinjamesporter

Nope don't have an engine shed at all at the moment took the old one out to build a new one with more roads but not got round to it yet Building some shelving to store locos which are not in use in. Will be able to get photos when I have sorted out the room that the layout is aand when we get time to sort out the garden railway.
Many thanks colin porter
James

Sounds good mate!

One thing I am waiting for is the new digital command control unit from bachmann which is due in in the summer http://www.dynamisdcc.com/index.php Currently my layout is operated by DCC in the form of the EZ command control unit. It makes the operation more realistic on the 00 gauges locos as you can control seperate locos independantly on the same track so you can run them towards eachother and bits like that. Also my LNER A1 Great northern has a smoke generator fitted though need to replace the chimney now as it has started to melt.
Many thanks colin porter
IndianaRog

Colin,

You have a serious collection there...we look forward to photos and videos as time and equipment permit. Prince William loco....wow!
colinjamesporter

Cheers for the kind comments guys. Will get photos up asap.
Many thanks colin porter
wyvern

Look forward to the pics, I too am curious to see how well william runs( I suspect very well).

One thing I noticed is that the new mamod loco went through a few design changes (piston valve gear) before they arrived at the current one.

I recently sold alot of my old 00 gauge hornby collection as I simply don't have the space for it and so moved to N gauge which is just amazingly small.

Happy steaming

wyvern
colinjamesporter

Sounds good has anyone run any piston valve locos yet are they capable of being controlled at slow speeds.
Cheers colin
colinjamesporter

Many thanks for the kind comments

colinjamesporter

Which locos might you have for sale?
bessytractor

I was most intrigued by the 9400.  At first I thought it was a Bachmann 2251 with tanks and cab grafted on to make it a 9400 but it looked too good for that.
