my latest purchase

on sunday (13th) i purchased a mamod rs1 set for £50

it includes-
set-
mamod sl1 loco
mamod log wagon with logs
mamod maroon coach
mamod curved track
mamod straight track
oil
tablets
extras-
2 pairs of mamod points
1 pack of curved mamod track
1 pack of straight mamod track

missing-
saftey valve (but i we have plenty spare)
buffer beams from loco.

it all seems to be in good condition, except for some parts on the loco.
boiler paint blistered
paint on edge of 1 tank is chipped
but those dont matter.

it was bought from a member of g.m.e.s  who turned up to the small model steam engine group meeting .
he said it was bought for the kids, used a few times, and left in the attic for years.
only half the tablets have been used.

pics to come later

You've been done then.

No seriously, thats got to be one of the bargains of the year. Well done.

50 quid!!!!

That's brilliant mate, congrats!  Thumbs up!

I've seen the set and extras and all I can say is that he's done extremely well.

If he wasn't such a fine young man I would be 'gutted' to see such a transaction happen under my nose at GMES.  Come to think of it I've just paid 2/3 of that amount on an annual membership to GMES

It certainly has to be the bargain of the century!

I've been watching some of the Mamod Locos and sets recently on ebay, and they are certainly not going cheap. Missed out on a MSS loco as the seller removed it from the listing, relisted it with a Buy It Now price and it was gone before I found it again. Pity as I would like to get a MSS Sidetank loco to compare them with the Mamod SL1. Just need to keep looking and hoping.

Wish I could get something like that superb collection for £50.

Interesting that the buffer plates are missing from the loco, but the buffers are still there.

And as I posted on the other Forum, RS1s & RS1As were not supplied with the RW5 Passenger Coach so you've got an interesting combination there. By the way the RW2 Lumber Wagon should have 2 drive belts holding on the logs, and not 1 as you have there.

Glad to hear it is a runner, so looking forward to some video in due course.

Wow, that was a bargain.

Wow thats a great result

Not sure what you'll gain from putting them in a tanning salon though
