my new mamodI went to the wood green toy fair yesterday and came home with this what do you think its mint and box is mint.
It even came with the recept. bought for £83.99 on the 11/11/95. also with it came the bottle of oil and box of fuel tablets. its not been fired either.
Another thing there is no marking on the front saying te1a??
i picked it up for £45 what do you think??

That was a good price, I have seen them going for more than that on Ebay as of late. You can do a Completed Auctions search on Ebay and judge from that the current value I suppose.

For £45 that's a good bargain you got there. Cannot see in your photos but I assume it has the scuttle and solid fuel burner tray, as everything else is there.
Wish we had some of these steam fairs closer to Glasgow to bag a bargain.

That was a heck of a good bargain Sparky...congrats. If you search eBay for Mamod TE1A, there is a fellow listing one now that also has the letters TE1A missing. He is implying that makes it very rare. I forgot what his price is, but it's not as perfect looking as yours and I think he is asking more.

yeh it must save money for the company rather than making seperate smokeboxes for each model

They did the same with the engine frames on the mobiles. Instead of painting them engine colour. They do it black so it can be used on any mobile
