My newest additionsI do not have a large collection, but there again I just bought my first one a little over a month ago.
Everyone knows the hassles I went through getting my first SR1A, I gave up and decided that while trying to get a refund from Mr Kerr, I would go ahead on bid on another. The second one came three days after the auction and the seller gave me good feedback.
I also won an auction for an OW1 to go with my SR1As.
The second SR1A seems to be about the same age as the other, but has been fired once or twice, no scorch marks inside the firebox, but a minimal amount od surface rust on the skuttle. The Meths burner had been modified to burn Esbit and and there were a couple of small poorly drilled holes in the bottom of the burner, I do not know why they were there.
Anyway, here they are, after I rebuilt the burner to burn Meths again. The thing fired right up, runs like a champ, but I need new washers for the overflow, whistle, and SV.

Very nice!
you can tell the closest one hasn't been fired much because you can see the green through the top of the firebox!
Great models

So which one will be the workhorse? I presume the second one.

The closest one is the one that has been fired before and I plan on using it as the workhorse. The one in back has never been fired so I think for now I will use it for display.
I think I did well with my purchases, the one in back was $69 and the one in front I got for $89
All I need now are some new washers.

I got a set of cheap punches at a surplus store and make my own washers out of teflon sheeting (Another Rog tip), after finding Jensen gaskets to be too thin (and leaky) for my tastes. Dude on ebay sells the sheeting. I think I'm going to buy some thicker stuff from him next, as I often find myself doubling up gaskets anyway.

Two nice Rollers there John, and an OW1. Those open wagons are a great accessory, very practical.

I could be wrong, but I think $29 for the OW1 with box was a good price too.

I you need washers you can make them from silicone. If you have an old tube of silicone caulking and its dried you can cut it up and make washers from it.

John, great to see some pieces finally coming together for you...really nice pieces at that!!!
Despite the hassles you went thru, you spent on average LESS per engine than I spent just for the shipping of a TE from UK to the US!!!! Buy Mamod and Bowman over here if at all possible, the savings in shipping alone will easily buy another engine!
As for washers...as Mr. O notes you can roll your own with a few punches and some silicone sheeting off eBay, or for less money upfront buy gasket sets from member BARRY1946...he has them for all Mamod needs and shipping such lightweight stuff is fast and cheap...look Barry up in the Membership list above Chat Safe Rules.
Now, go have some fun!!!

Nice john, I am a Mamod roller fan myself How well does the wagon pull along behind the roller?(If you have tried it yet that is, personally I couldn't have waited) I am considering getting a wagon too.

I have not ran the Roller with the driving band on, but the wagon offers no resistance and rolls easily so I would assume that the Roller would pull it with no trouble at all.
The SR1A I want to use needs washers badly, so I will not run it over carpet and I have a gravel driveway. I think that I will find a parking lot or someplace to run it mobile sometime soon.

A couple of lovely engines John, I particularly like the metho fired one. I must get one one day but there are so many stationary engines to collect (sigh) and one can't have everything.
Cheers

They are both Meth fired
In fact they are so identical other than the fact that the one in front shows a slight amount of use. I bet they are both the same age.
