My Old man's setsOk, I'll put pics of my old mans meccano sets here.
Only have photos of the number 10 set so far. Will get more pics tomorrow/weekend.
Sorry for the many pics. But each pic shows a drawer/different levels in the drawers. It is barely used, and dates from around 1960's I think.

I can't recall the price. 1000 pound maybe? Got it from UK, via ebay. Postage and insurance was about 200 pound I think
It's kinda the SE4 of Meccano.
I think you can go past a wooden box, even if it's just with dividers to sort meccano when it starts getting big
Will put more sets up as I get photos.

Heres my old mans set.
Don't know much about it all there i am using some of it on a lineshaft hence the missing pieces. If any one could tell me anything about it that would be great. It is outfit number 2 and 2a.
Also the tray on outfit 2 lifts out for some more Meccano i can take pics if anyone wishes

Wallace that's fantastic! When I was a kid in the sixties the No.10 set was the one that everybody dreamed of, but NOBODY ever got. I had a No.2 like Buzzbuzz312's picture, and a No.4.... still got most of it, but not the original boxes unfortunately.

Great pics Buzz.
I can remember as a boy looking with awe at these meccano sets. Never got one though.
We were so poor we couldn't even afford laxatives. Mum used to sit us on the toilet and told us ghost stories.

That's a great set there buzzbuzz.
Excellent condition too.
It's from the early 60's and set 2 and 2a actually makes up a set 3 of that era.
All meccano sets do that. Have set 5, and buy 5a of that era, it will make set 6.
It's my fave era of meccano, the red/green stuff

Yes! Exactly. The yellow and black stuff just doesn't have the same appeal. Also the square nuts were the best.
