MTA

Southdown buses, photography, reading, Narrow Gauge railways and stock, Industrail Railways and stock, toy steam, listening to music, riding my mountain bike on the South Downs, Standard Gauge railways and stock (particularly southern region), model railways, walking in the countryside (particularly old railway lines), watching a good film, vintage buses, Miniature Railways and stock.
SPOKESMAN

You mentioned stock and buses twice!
tarbyonline

IT, Football, very occasionally going to the gym, reading lots, ferries, talking rubbish
Mamodman123

Football, Snooker, computers, Nintendo, collecting.. etc etc
Steamgirl

Vintage buses rock! I want a Guy Arab Mk II in Provincial (Fareham & Gosport) livery, preferably with a No 2 route indicator. Failing that, an old RM would do! I used to spend a lot of time in the Preserved Transport Depot in Portsmouth .

Also, reading, music, blogging, endlessly surfing the net, driving, steam train visiting, industrial buildings - mills, pumping stations etc, and old cars and paddle steamers. Basically I like old stuff and stuff that goes - if something fits both those, even better I've just started to get into photography a bit more.

Oh yes, real ale too!
James

Sky juice.
SPOKESMAN

As per my profile.

What's your best break MM? I got 42 once. I play my mate twice a week and he's had a bad night if he doesn't get at least 3 breaks over 50.

Roughly 32... it's the hardest sport to be good at in the world. You either have it, or you don't!

42 is good! I don't play regularly anymore... about a handful of times a year when I get time

My 42 break was the most absolutely luckiest visit to the table ever with the balls placed just perfectly.

I'm usually very happy with anything over 20, I got three breaks over twenty in March out of approx. 70 frames played.

Sheer class. In my younger days (mid '50s) we used to stay with my aunt in Fareham. Had many happy trips to Gosport on Provincial Guys and AECs.

Can't fault that one either

Nice one, I think its a sport that you either have the eye for or are totally useless

How do you think the World championship will go this year? Anyone could win it but i'll be supporting Parrott and Davis (who meet in the first round )seeing as Jimmy didn't make it

It'll be some Chinaman no one's heard of.
Mamodman123

Aye
Chris

Sullivan unless he plays like an idiot. He is by far the best when he plays well, but very inconsistent.

Aye best natural talent! Although he is a bit of a troubled soul
James

Who is? Neil Sullivan that goalie?

Ronnie O'sullivan

Neil? Oh god he must be like 42?
James

No idea. He's good though. He won us the cup.

And they say goalkeepers never reach their best until they are about 35+.

No, around 32 is the peak!

You get some exceptions like Seaman, but reactions start to go... 40+ they are gone!. They seem to lose the ability to judge a cross.
James

Sullivan is still good though mate, good for our lower league anyway.

I saw Peter Schmeichel's last ever game

Aye!

He retired at Man City didn't he?
James

Yeah. I saw it at Anfield. I was there

1-2 Man City. Dudek (my fave player for Liverpool LOL) got a groin injury in the last minute and a penalty against him.
Mamodman123

Luckily Dudeks best game was the champions league final. The rest of the time he had teflon gloves
MTA

Lads, there is a designated football thread
James

Yeah I know there is MTA.

Anyway as we was saying MM, Dudek ain't THAT bad
SPOKESMAN

MTA off topic in an off topic thread - Im confused.
Mamodman123

ITs an interest MTA
Chris

This is a thread of other interests.

If there was a thread of "no interest in the least" I would put football near the top.

Football =
James

If you ain't interested, don't reply
Chris

But it is an interest of mine... pointing out how boring football is.
James

Mamodman123

Aye!

But it wouldn't go down well with the FA!

Watford only have 10 fans, and Blackburn about 8 or 9
SPOKESMAN

What about Palace . . . .
Mamodman123

SPOKESMAN wrote:

A fair amount for a small London club Mike

We're bigger than Watford! and Blackburn have a very very small fanbase
SPOKESMAN

OK then . . . . .
