Not enough lubrication somewhere?

I think it is well enough lubricated, im generally very thorough with the oiling.
I have used some meths to de-grease the wheels see if that makes a differnce..

based on but not quite, made by a friend from the model engineers as a sort of kit. He made it using measurments of a mamod TE and pictures of other locos like this

It's not to heavy to run itself is it , maybe it needs plenty of running in on blocks.

When you say "it dosnt want to know", what's not happening? Will it run on a flat surface without track. I'm thinking, maybe, the flanges are binding on the track? If not then, maybe, it's just too heavy. Gearing down more might help in that case. Running in wouldn't do any harm whatever the problem.
Any posibility of a video of it trying to go?

Well i had it going again a sec ago with two major differnces...
1) i fired using meths.. more awkward to light but made a fair bit of difference.
2) I have added an old mullered OO van wagon on the front and put two lead weights in which has seemed to improved it!
Hope to run it on a friends railway on saturday!

if it were me Will I'd pop an uprated safety valve on it set to about 25-30 psi and gas fire it!
Dunno if the boiler would take it but hey its worth a go!

Just a little up date,
I had it running up and down a siding on the club track on sunday, touch wood all went well but it didnt seem to be creating enough steam... Quite possibly to do with the high winds and low temperatures!
