New stuff for backwheelsHere is a brand new idea by me
Shrink Tubing
Look at the photos.... it is self-describing
It can be cutten down like in the last pictures!
Or, if you want, you can leave it look like it has large rubber tyres....
Coments please
If some members are interested i can get some more stuff

I think they look very nice, but I prefer the trimmed down one.

That's a fascinating engine layout you have there.

Mirko, I use shrink tubing all the time, but in small diameters for electrical wire connections. I had no idea it came in such large diameters...great idea.
Is there an online source for that large shrink tube?

Maybe, don't know....
I have it because i work in a company that makes and sells heatshrinable tubes of all sorts and sizes....
This here is a 4" tube
Fits very good on wilesco backwheels.
Took a sample from my company home to try out...
By the way, this will also work on boilers (exept the part that sits right over the fire) .... Maybe an alternative to paint
We have heat resistant tubes up to 200° C

Ahh, the very best source is the company one works for!!!
That would also work nicely to cover the rollers. On my Wilesco Old Smoky conversion, I used a piece of thin rubber, but as I did not want to glue it to the roller itself, I lapped it over on itself and glued it that way. Makes a slight bump as it goes around. Shrink tube would work MUCH better.

That's right...
This one here fits just by the shrinking...
So i can remove it at any time if i like...
We also have shrink tubing that includes a kind if heatmelting glue on the inner surfaces.....if you want it to stay permanentaly...

I like the shrink tubing idea. BUT I like the franken-wilesco old smokey more.
Steering wheel as the throttle

You can also get heat shrinkable self amalgamating tape which is great for places you can't fit tube onto.
You just wrap it loosely around the item and heat it up and it shrinks down and bonds to itself making it look like normal tubing.

a great idea i like it. i would like to get some wide stuff. i use heat shrink on small motors (dynamos) steel drive bands love it rather than a fine pulley. also as soon as i can get some i believe very fine stuff would be good for joining up bits of steel drive band (still to be tried)

Heat shrink in odd sizes can get to be quite expensive, but I sure like the results you got there.
