Newbie from USA

Hello All,

New guy here from the west coast of the United States. Wanted to stop in and say hello. I currently have three steam engines, a Jensen model 75, Jensen model 85 and a Midwest model VI. I hope to someday expand my collection including older models and maybe try my hand at restorations. In the meantime I have lots to learn. This forum is fantastic and will boost my learning curve immensely.

Again hello!

Marty

Welcome to the forum from Indiana.

Hi and welcome to the forum, not only will it help your learning curve, once the forum effect takes hold you will see your collection expand and your wallet empty at a rate of knots.
Steve_S

Welcome to the forum Marty! I'm sure we'd all like to see some pictures of your engines.

Welcome Marty from just North of you... a good bunch this lot is!! We will all be happy advising you on spending your money on steam

Thanks for the warm welcome and warning about the pocket book.

My wife fears this could become another costly addiction. She thinks it silly that a grown man finds pleasure in a child's toy as she puts it. Oh silly me.

A warm, 82 degree, welcome from the sunny US Virgin islands.

Unfortunately, Les is right.     You can look forward to your collection expanding and your wallet going on a crash diet.

I have a nine year old son, Andrew, who is also a steam nut.  He's entered one of his accessories in November's AOTM, (Accessory of the Month).

This only serves to increase pressure.  ( But also provides a good excuse   ).

Another welcome from Indiana Marty...good to see you have a couple of Jensens already, my favorite brand of engine.  Our forum covers virtually all brands and has members from around the world...any questions welcome and any pictures you might share are welcomed as well.

cheers,
Roger

Up until yesterday, we have been in the high 80's here in San Jose, CA.  Now they are talking rain by the end of the week.

May the child in us never grow up.

Roger,

It was through your most excellent website that I found this forum.

Hi and another welcome. All warning have already been given, so make some coffee, sit back and start posting. This really is a rather special place to talk toy steam.

Hi Marty, and a great big Scottish welcome.

It's great to have you here.

We have some of the biggest and most respected names in toy steam right here, who will be only too happy to help whenever needed.

You've had all the warnings of the Toy Steam Bug that afflicts us all, so I'll say no more about that.

Thanks also for the help on the San Francisco front. I'm going to print out the list and take it with me.

You're in good company here mate.

Hi Marty and welcome from another Australian.

If your wife doesn't want you to spend you money on 'childs toys' tell her you can spend it instead at the pub and then she may think steam toys are a better option.
Marty

Thanks again for the warm welcomes and addiction warnings.
