Not Mr Bowman's Birthday
We shall be operating the pool on the Sunday for the "Day at the Seaside" steam day. As this will be really for sailing boats (Star Yachts etc) it struck me as a good idea to play steamers on the Saturday. I intend to fit the pool out with a couple of stripes for a measured 30 feet and do some speed trials of Bowman and Hobbies launches. If time and opportunity permits we might stretch to a few Mamod powered boats also but there is always next year. See how it goes. So far I have the four prewar Bowmen, two or three post war Bowmen and a couple of Hobbies signed up. Could be interesting.

Mr Bowman's Birthday will be celebrated at the usual time in November. Look out for details nearer the date.

Not when he is celebrating a birthday (or a boatday) at the Abbey Pumping Station. Effectively he is a sort of lar of the APS rather than a real person.

Do I recognize that photo, Fred?
September 14 is my father's birthday, so there is a strong chance I may be in England at that time.
If so, I'll be certain to attend.
May also have a boat, but not a Bowman I'm afraid.
