German 'Biscoff' engineA new arriaval to my steam collection, a german made 'Biscoff' engine ( Don't know how you spell it?) made around 1930. This is a very, very heavy and large steam engine with plenty of power. The flywheel is 6 1/4 inches dia with a 1 1/2 inch driving pulley. The single cylinder is double acting and is fitted with a lubricator and cross head. The cylinder is about 1 inch dia. The base is about 11 inches long by 8 inches wide. Also fitted is a fully working governor, which controls the engine speed. A flat belt should be used between the crankshaft and governor but I have used Wilesco belts for now. Biscoff engines are quite rare in this country and one did appear on Ebay recently, although it failed to sell. They could often be found in school science lessons.
I will try and get a film made of this engine running soon.
