SEL Accessories, no longer needed

I am after one SEL accessory.

It is the:

Lathe accessory no. 3080

Thanks.

I am highlighting it hoping that one of our new members might be able to help.
Nick

Will this complete your collection?

I am after two SEL accessories.

They are:-

3040 Unknown as yet
3080 Lathe

Thanks.

MamodFan kindly informed me that accessory 3040 is the Lineshaft.
This means I am just after a lathe.
Can anybody help me
Nick

Here is what it looks like:

Found on this website (Note in alphabetical order).

Les

I want it.
Nick

Contact the website.

Have you found any other owners like the one I found. I was having a lot of trouble finding this one.
Nick

I guess it is a museum though, so they probably wouldn't sell it.
Les

They could let have it on permanent loan.

Ebay has a wanted section that I think is free. Check it out and give it a try.

Thanks for that, it is now posted and I eagerly await a response.
Nick

I just wonder how many people actually check them.

Was it free and easy to do?

It was easy to do, and free as far as I know, as to checking them, well I've been a member of Ebay for about two years and it's the first I've heard of it.
Nick

I can't even find it now, how do you get to it. They keep changing things.
Les

Its a bit fiddley. On the feft hand side of Your ebay summary, there is a Want It Now legend. Click on that and try to follow the instructions. I did not find it straight forward at all, but it is free so I will just see if anything comes of it.
Nick

There it was, staring me in the face.
It used to be on the homepage, easy to find.

I like the wording for that Museum's lathe - It is molded from a hard, black plastic similar to bakelite . So was it not bakelite that they used then?

Thanks for showing me this one.

Wow nice collection you've got there.  The induction coil in the picture is mine but I've never known how to make it work????

I was lucky, mine had the box and the instructions.

You need to connect a 4V battery to terminals T1 & T2 of the coil (the terminals at the end) The contact breaker (the knurled bolt touching the thin strip) should vibrate. If it doesn't, flick it slightly. You may need to adjust the bolt until it just touches the strip.
The further you push the rod into the core, the higher the effect.

If you want a photocopy of the instructions PM me with your address and I will send them to you.
Steely

Cheers for that, thats great!  Although I think the rod is missing on mine.

That doesn't help, try it without the rod just to see what happens.

And when you've all stopped playing about.

Congratulations Les, looks like a great piece, great condition and worthy of the long wait you've had to endure.

Commendations to John for helping a member who otherwise would have had to stay up til after 2 am for an item that wouldn't ship out of the the continental US.

This effort epitomises the very best of what this forum has to offer.

Heartfelt commendations to all involved.

We need more of this type of cooperative collaboration.

I cannot thank John enough for helping me with this item and all the others he has helped me with.
Les

It arrived today, a pristine and complete SEL Lathe with a lot of help from John.

Nick

Now that the SEL collection is complete, we need a SEL workshop.
