It used to be that a few years ago the vintage fish and chip van they restored would spark up and supply the masses but I don`t think they do it anymore
Pity cause they were lovely
Transport collection
The Museum has a narrow gauge railway which is normally operated by an 0-4-0ST steam locomotive, Leonard, but four diesel locomotives – three Simplex and one Ruston – are also available if needed. There is also a collection of vintage fire engines, buses (see below), an 1894 Aveling and Porter steam roller, three diesel rollers, an Austin Fish and Chips Van and an Austin Van with Ales which are operated on selected days.

If you polish Wilescos the brasso wadding gets through the metal real quick

Can't wait to see all the pics and vids from STIA.
I remember the forum being flooded with them last year.
Nick

I didn't get to see the pics from '07, so I can't wait.
(I hope everyone can find their cameras)

That and batteries for the cameras be they Duracells or reachables
Wonder if there is WiFi available there, that would be so cool, a STIA WebCam
Nick
Maybe next year they could put a camera up in the corner, so we could watch.

Just like the newest Harry Potter Movie, I have to wait for the DVD to dome out

No, that would be torture.
Nick
Watching my dvd was torture, I loved it but wanted to be there so bad. The biggest collection I've seen in person is my own.
The only place I've seen collections is at threshing shows. There are very small displays in the sheds, most of them being Jensens. It's funny when you start taking a closer look and they start to tell you basic knowledge of them. Then when you tell them what you know they are shocked, because hardly anybody there has seen them before.
Les
Still I am going to Tilford for their toy steam rally in March so it's not too bad.
Nick
I don't know of any toy steam shows near me. I'll have to search the internet.
Nick
If my time is right, are they a 1/2 hour into the event right now?
Les
Yes
Nick
I bet it's going fast. Too bad it wasn't longer.
johnreid
I can tell there is no Wi Fi access as the reports are not flooding in
Les
They will be packing up and going home now.
Rob

have a look at my post in the pics section. some shots of 3 bassett lowke losos and the aveling roller and one with me on it
Titan
Well I must say it was another great show! The Portable Layout was very busy, Rosa put in a fine performance, Titan Performed better than expected - the leaks seemed to have more or less cured themselves, it was in fact the RC that played up instead!
We even managed to just squeeze an edrig round - I had to remove the tunnel as the chimney was too tall and there were a couple of places where it was just a millimeter or two spare. That was one fine loco - could pull anything!
Unfortunately no pics, I did find my camera - I was just too busy!
And of course there was the usual impressive display from the rest of the forum, and also seeing the MF twin running was a highlight too!

So what is the full story about the Wilesco that fell apart?

Me Dads Bing did John, the stationary. Not as big as James Fleishmann but took ages to fill, all going well, came to the boil and steam and stuff everywhere, sight glass leaking somewhere
luckily only H2O saw it, as was late in the day doth think Sandy got it on DVD , hot water everywhere .
There are 2 shut off valves but both were stuck so had a few pints of hot water on Freds table
