Mamod SR1A RestorationI built this engine in june 2003, but the following summer i took the engine to school for a demonstraion of steam energy. Unfortunatly the cylinder was not attached correctly and when it came off the spring and bolt that attached the cylinder to the engine had dissapeard.
In summer 2006 i found the engine on a shelf in a very sorry condition, so i dismanteld and repared the parts that needed it.
I discoverd that the boiler was full of an oily gloop, so it spent the best part of 3 months draining the substance from the barrell.
Finally after ordering new parts off of forest classics the engine was back on her wheels and ready to run.
I christend the engine ''Prince Albert'' to go with my TE1A ''Queen Vic''
