New SALE PRICE for SEL's £150

Having just bought:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAP...sPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=015

I now need to finance my purchase urgently. So grab a bargain now. My SEL Collection is now going for £150 o.n.o. (Thats only £37.50 per engine)
Les

Fortunately I have those SELs, but that is a beautiful looking boat. Well done. Thumbs up!

Nice Launch, I have a worldwide 'steam launch' search on e bay, but for some reason that one didn't come up.

I had pretty much decided to buy the kit and do the decks in mahogany planking I had left over from another boat.

The planking really makes a difference.

Happy Sailing.

SOLD

SOLD SEL's to kusuchi (Richard)

Thanks Richard.

I nearly decided to buy the kit but saw the boat on e-bay (comes with a servo fitted to rudder) saved my self a lot of work and looking forward to the launch.

Now all I have to do is sort out a receiver and batteries, which I don't know anything  about.    So any hints / advice welcome?

I'm sure there are others with greater expertise, but here's what I know.

This is the RC unit that I have:

I think a lot will depend on the brand of servo it comes fiitted with.  You may have to get the same brand for connections to match..

The servo connects to a small rectangular receiver which should install under the rear seat. The receiver has an antenna wire.

There are a couple of different options shown in this thread:

Then there is the battery pack, mine takes four AAs, which connects via an on off switch to the receiver too.

The hand held transmitter will usually have at least two channels.  You will only be using one for steering.

Not yet, I'll show him soon.

I need to put Val in the picture first.

In the last 24 hours, I've bought the Mamod Limosine SA1L, four SELs, Philcraft's Lilliput and Philcraft's Jenny Wren

I'm also contemplating the Flieschmann 125/4 on Sunday and will be buying the Midwest Fantail as soon as Tower Hobbies have it back in stock.

Where are the brakes??????            What the heck?

It is also possible we may have acquired a really extraordinary addition to the fairground.  That, I have shown Andrew, and he's really excited.

Speaking of Fairgrounds.  Can you believe this? This whole thing probably won't sell for much over 100 euros.

Do we have any german members who would be prepared to front for us?
johnreid

Wow! Richard, I believe you will have a world class collection real soon.
kusuchi

No John,

Just a real bad case of OCD
kusuchi

Can't wait to show you Andrew's fairground piece.

Now thinking of constructing the base on different levels with small ladders / stairways accessing the different levels and handrails all around.  Showman's will run it.
Nick

Is it the expensive one???
kusuchi

Not the one your thinkng of but more of an antiguity.  Believe it or not it was given to Andrew, through me, as a present by another forum member.   It will certainly be the centerpiece of his collection.

Here are the pics;

It is also avilable on e bay now:

Many thanks to the generosity of the donor.  You have certainly made a small boy very happy.

I emailed CTW tonight for the brass handrails , staircases ,etc. we will eventually want for this multi level displayl
Nick

I need to know!!!

johnreid

Oh my that is a real nice one, it has a lot of that old fashioned charm that can not be duplicated with a new one. Andrew is very lucky.
Les

That is a wonderful little carousel and a piece to be cherished. Andrew is one lucky boy.

Keep it up Richard - you are my cover story if my wife starts counting boxes that come in ...
