Oesterwitz (Jüterbog) Workshop

Hello,
here some photos of my Oesterwitz workshop. All items are bakelite Oesterwitz (from Jüterbog, DDR/GDR), 1950s. Only the lineshaft is alloy. I tried to fix the lineshaft-base without using screws, as the wooden base looked like it would split easily.
These Oesterwitz machines are fascinating, with a lot of details. Look at the punch-press, e.g., the footpedal to dis/engage the clutch; or the milling-machine (hope these are the correct technical terms): the table does not only move sideways but can be moved up/downwards as well.
Hope to find the time to steam up one of my steam engines to show the whole workshop working...
Regards!

They all look like they are truly ready to go into miniature production.
That is a very high quality group of accessories. I also like the deep burgundy color.

Nice assembly !

Very elegant solution the way you hold that lineshaft down!

That is a fabulous workshop, right up my street!

Moose, would that be "ganz meine Kragenweite" in German, I wonder???
IndianaRog

Marvelous detail on those pieces...very, very nice.  I too like your creative way of securing the lineshaft down.

How about a steaming video soon of that whole workshop in operation?

Those are beautiful pieces, I love the finish on them too. A very nice workshop you have there.

Those tools are superb.

You can avoid the wood splitting by pre-drilling holes for the screws to go through.
Michael

The quality of those accessories just jumps out in the pictures.
Sandman

Jeez, just look at the detail there.

I reckon you could use that lathe to machine parts to scratchbuild a tiny engine like a Jenny Wren, or one of those engines by Hiselcher, and I reckon you could make a nice little base for it on the milling machine.
hansdampf

wow, that's beautiful. I've never seen anything modelled so tiny from phenol-formaldehyde..

Very nice
