Wow James,
Your spending money like a drunken sailor At the rate you are going you will have the whole Jensen line in about 6 months at which point the you will need to sell about 10 years worth of pop pop boats to get yourself out of hock
Oh well, you have a trio of nice condition Jensens and if you really ever get totally skint, you can get your money out of them. This last one was a pretty good deal for $70 USD (35 GBP).
NOW, you need to take a Jensen break ...stop buying and enjoy them!!!

Cracker Jim...
Jensenitis - there are worse things to have
IMHO Jensen is the pick of the crop of the toy steam manufacturers still in business today.....their modern stuff is every bit as good (and compatible with) their old stuff, and their customer service is just phenomenal. Compared to that, the present line of Wilesco and Mamod look very long in the tooth (I'll make an exception for the SP6 )

Mamodman123

Excellent buy James, can't fault it for 35 bones
That's three Jensens already! I think you have a problem James a good one maybe

We're working on this disease here in the States, Tony. I've heard they're offering
money to afflicted people in Oz who wish to participate in an experimental
procedure called a Scorpionectomy. Hang in there, I've put you on list, mate!

That sounds painful.
Tell me would I still be able to use my flywheel after the surgery?
|

Sorry Tony, I should've told you about the pain involved, but I didn't want to
scare you off what, I feel, must be done.

CHeers guys.
Yep, I'm happy with it
Should have a chimney, and a burner yes.

Nice one James
At this rate of buying Jensens you will soon be catching Roger up
|

I wish
Don't know which one to get next
I want to go for the entire "hobby" range and get the posh bugger range after that when I have the money to be a posh bugger

Carn't be many of the Hobby range left for you to collect now
If it is any concolation there are only really three variants of the "posh bugger" range, so you will soon be saved up enough
|
James

I think there is quite a few left in the tight bugger range though.
I hope I can buy a #51

Somehow I don't think they would let you take a #51 on the plane
|
James

That would be ok, as they would give you 2 dinners and not one

how bout this James? this would clear your Dad out!
Item number: 110111001057
Needless to say that will go for a pretty penny!

Casey, that's a great engine. $208 US, 104 quid very do-able for an engine like
that. Solid wood base, not plywood, right? 1937 vintage. Oozes quality and
sturdiness. Great decal. Mamod fans might ask what they would pay for a
Mamod or other comparable Brittish engine of 1937 vintage in same condition
and the price for that #10 seems a bargain. We just saw an old Mamod SE2
get 231 quid on ebay.

Chuck, unfortunately the bidding has only just begun on that 1937 Jensen 10. On close exam it has several highly prized features...riveted boiler, robins egg blue paint, standalone lamp post and decal ID...all wrapped up in what appears to be a near perfect example. Yes, wood is solid pine with routered edge, seen only on the early Jensens.
A lesser model WITHOUT the riveted boiler or standalone lamp post sold for over $1,100 USD (550 GBP) just a week ago . I expect this one will top that. I won't be playing for that kind of money...will watch in awe from the cheap seats to see who gets it.

Jeez, Rog. I shoulda caught that. How embarasskin!

Not to worry Chuck...we all miss one now and then. Last week I must have been asleep at the switch and let a very nice Jensen 10 with red horseshoe magnet generator slip by for a final sale price of $300 USD or just above that. THAT was an incredible deal for someone.
I have concluded we all troll eBay daily as if it was our favorite fishing pond...just hoping to land the big one...sometimes we do (like Mooseman and his Bowman snipe)...which keeps us looking
cheers,
