anyway if you feel comfortable putting yourself on here then there shouldn't be a problem. But only pictures of yourself and not other members without their permission

I have to be honest and say that I am one of the members who really doesn't like this kind of thread. I'm sorry and I fully accept that it is my job, that leaves me very sensitive about this kind of thing.

Please be very careful about posting pics of yourself on the forum. We all have a responsibility to all our members to look after everyone. That's what makes our forum so strong and why we can have both the very young and older members sharing in our hobby.

Please read our 'chat safe' rules again. And lets look after everyone who uses our great forum.

Graham-Jilly

igy569

I use to wear a leather fedora I felt like that about.  I wore if for years and years.  Now I just wear a regular baseball cap.  Covers the bald spot.
James

LOL!

People look at me rate queer sometimes, like when I were on work experience, I took off me cap, wiped the oil dipstick from a combine on it, and the bloke I were working with went "You can tell you're one of them there steam lads"

I use it for everything! It's soaked in petrol, diesel, meths, oil, muck and cack and it's been set on fire a couple of times
pauly

Im surprised youv got any hair left on ya head
igy569

HEY!!!!   I resemble that remark!!!!
GUTMACH

Si, funny that you should mention Polar Bear, the Angora cat in the photo is named Behr, short for 'Polar Behr'.

So you guys calls them "caps", to me they are 'snap brim'. I have two leather ones now, gotta post a photo of them sometimes. I have been wearing them off and on for the last thirty years (I am only 47 now).

Noticing the Who shirt, do any of you listens to Ska ?

James

Aye I can stand and yak all day!

Do you use the word "yak" in America?? Apart from to describe the animal??
johnreid

IndianaRog

Yack would be used here to mean: talk too much, but it is an older term not used much by younger people.
James

Eeee bloody hell! Yak's talking over here aswell!

LOL John that's rate American!

I got told at school that I spelt "jail" wrong, cos I spelt it "gaol"

I had to explain that I was spelling it the old English way
IndianaRog

Oi John, where do you find such gems?

I was probably 7 years old sitting in front of a black and white TV as a kid watching that cartoon!!!
rangerssteamtoys

I must be old then... I thought GAOL was just the English way.
JAIL makes more logical sense, but GAOL has a rustic charm.....

(I think JAIL really started to take hold in the UK when the Deputy Dawg cartoons were on television... who remembers that?)
