perseus first run on steamwhile i was in the garage i thought i'd pipe up the perseus and give her a run. Bit dissapointed with the pipe bending as i couldnt avoid kinking. i'm hoping to try out some liquid metal net session to see if i can overcome that. here is a short video

Did you try annealing the tube before bending?

yes i aanealed and used a pipe bender so maybe liquid metal will be the answer, otherwise it's wider radius bends

What sort of pipe bender do you use David? I've got one of these, never let me down.

I usually don't use a bender. I do it carefully by hand or
over a rod . But I think i'm used to smaller tubing. I use
1/8" or 5/32" copper tube.

David, I have a Perseus just like yours sans the boiler setup.
I have only run mine on air so was looking forward to seeing yours on steam.
Was it a video oddity or did that need some oil, sounded squeaky to me

I have one of these benders too but it does not like tight radius bends. I just bought a Dubro bender from a hobby shop and it does a much better job, on the test piece I can get a 180 degree bend in 10mm!
I have seen one foe larger diameter tubing which I will buy next time I am in there.

No it was'nt a video oddity for aminute or so there was a squeeking despite having used copious amounts of lubricant. the video was made on it's very first few seconds on steam and it had previously only had about a minute on air. the squeeking did stop after about a minute so i put it down to the engine being a bit tight. ceasing after expanding with the heat

Great to see your Perseus running on live steam off the Cotswold boiler.
If you don't have any luck with the pipe tool Dave, the bending springs are a good alternative. I think mine came from steam4fun.
