Pics of my loco in bitssome pics from when i stripped her down to clean out her boiler.
as you can see, you cant see through the sight glass.

BRILLIANT, i can see water again through the glass, and is also water tight, just need steam testing for the final step
thanks for all the tips on cleaning this crap out of the boiler. i ended up soaking the boiler in hot soapy water for 30 mins. then cutting up an old tooth brush and fixing it to a long thin stick. then, i could scrub the inside of the boiler out through the sight glass hole. finally, soaking it again in hot soapy water and rinsing it out thoroughly with hot water. this got a LOT of the cack off and i can now see through the glass.
also have a video of her having a boiler washout with cold water on the sink. ill post it in a bit as photobucket wont let me upload it at the moment.
