I've had good luck with ebay and my neighborhood plumber.
Is it for general putzing around or for for your Girth monster engine?

Naa, remember the homebuilt piston/clylinder/crank/flywheel I bought for £12? I'm gonna turn it into a stationary engine while the lathe is being fixed Need some brass tubing for a boiler and base mounted chimney. And some brass for end caps.
Need to be posted quick cos I'm impatient

Too bad I don't live next door. I've got it. $12, boiler and caps.

If I'm making it out of copper I have the chimney bit, just the boiler to get. Might be able to scrounge some of a neighbour who is a plummer
The thing is, the flywheel/piston/cylinder arew brass. If I made the boiler/chimney out of copper, would it look stupid?

I don't think so, but it's a matter of taste. My latest homemade job has brass
boiler and copper chimney. Plus, Wallace's brother's engine has copper boiler.

All brass would just cost too much. I gotta save for this big SE3

I have a large coil of 1/8" coper tube here only problem is australian 1/8" is larger outside diameter than English coper tube

Good for you, Graham...think I'd have done the same thing.
A few years ago I was pretty heavy into old tube radios and
learned a few cursory repairs. Still got tubes and radios
scattered about. Is your stuff all newer solid state equipment?
