Plans for Meccano LoomHas anyone got these to hand?
I have them somewhere... but they are in a box full of like 100 Meccano magazines, and I don't want to go through every page of every single one
Thanks!!

I don't have a full set of loom plans but I do have something in one of my magazines that should give you enough info to make one.
I'll try and remember to dig it out when I get home tonight.

No worries.
Advice? Good luck
Seriously though,
It's says set number 8 plus a few parts will build it.
I can't pick the era, but I'd say a Red/Green set number 8 would be the one.
Problem might be the cost.
Does my head in looking at those instructions. Just spent about 4hrs trying to build a 4 speed gearbox and ran into troubles.
Besides, it was turning out bigger than the MEC1

Just found my camera but the batteries are flat so have them on charge at the moment.
Wallace if you think that loom is bad wait till I get this one up.

LOL!!
Well I dunno if I'll be able to get me head around this one, never mind a bigger one

Is it a hand loom or a power loom Tony?

I can see lots of gears but no motor so I guess hand loom
|
steamyjim

I think there was one which was a power loom. I do remember one at a watermill in Lyme Regis powered by a handle

Wether thats the plans you have i don't know though.
But if it has gears and things it should be a power loom

Any model that is powered by handle, regardless of gears or not can easily be adapted to suit and engine or motor

Aye i know that Wallace, just wasn't sure if this was the set of plans Tony had
|
Wallace
|
Ahh ok
|
James
|

What about the Fleishmann?
|
James

Oh yeah I forgot about that

I think a D32 would power it nicely

I think that could certainly be made from Meccano. It's very similar stuff.

I missed that post there!!
Looks real good!! But would it be able to weave wool properly? ?
|
James
|
Started making the Meccano one now!
|

James, for some reason PB is playing up so can't see the plans and I can't be bothered to go look for them here
But I remember special extra parts being needed. Said it in the text of the plans.
Was this one of them??
Part 101?
Here's some on ebay. Not saying to buy them, but might be able to make them yourself.

I'm thinking there must have been a proper Meccano plans loom (by meccano) for them to bring that part out
