Portsmouth Historic Steam Show – PicturesThought I would post these pictures of a lovely day out a few of the forum members had today. We visited the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard Steam fair, I met up with Jay Minor and his daughter, but Will was off driving engines somewhere and I did not see him before I left.
Anyway as you can see the weather was lovely and all had a good day. Although a bit disappointing from the “Toy Steam” side of things as the organisers had not invited anyone to exhibit from our hobby. There were a few model boat clubs exhibiting along with the miniature rail enthusiasts but not much else.
Anyway the sight of full size live steam with a backdrop of HMS Victory was a true sight to behold.
"Steamy" had a good day as well – click here to see his own thread

“Thorney” 1908 Shad Mason, Horse drawn - Steam fire Engine

No as I live local I have been on the Victory before.
They stoke the Thorney at the base of the Boiler there is a large access door behind that wheel and they stoke it from there.
Sorry John but I did not see it pumping, but the operator told me its in full working order.
