postage tracking numberswe havent used ebay later (yrs) and these new postage tracking numbers are new to us .......anyway we are waiting on two items from the usa... tracking numbers have been provided we found its great!!!so we have checked every day .... so the "tracking" stated that the item had been received .....sent to a sorting facility..... passed on to another..... good ...good its on its way..... checked this morning...... yep now in florida!!!!! great its on it way...... went out the back door and TRIPPED!!!!!! over a box.  its our item!!!! never heard the mailman ive just checked NOW!!! ITS NOW ON AN INTERNATIONAL manifest!!! i guess it will be here in a day or two!!!

No, it's fully automated with a digital code, barcode my likely, being read by machines at each facility it passes

True. I ordered something from the USA and it was delivered a few minutes later. The clerck scanned the received barcode instead of the shipping out one. It came though. No problem, but I was not able to track it. Most of the time it is fun and works. Rob. |

I've also found that depending on the shipping price, low or high, the tracking is better or worse...
Glad you got it in good order.... the shipping will probably get updated later today. |

I have found UPS and FEDEX tracking is pretty good...I have set myself up so they send me an email when they have delivered in case I don't hear the truck. I have gotten the emails before the truck has even left the street.
US Postal tracking numbers are not quite as reliable...I have received an item and 2 days later get an email saying it was just delivered...something falling down there, but it better than nothing. |

I find the UPS ones work quite well, at least I know what day it was put on the truck for local delivery so can arrange for somebody to be home that day to get the parcel.
If I am not home to sign for it they try twice I believe, after that I drive 45 minutes to pick it up. |

They work quite well IF they are updated, as Roly says. And, in my opinion.... they usually aren't | ||

The tracking on the best grade of US mail I found to be very good ..... It was Air mailed abroad, and the rate while not cheap was way lower than UPS by Air and not that much higher than their perfered rate. |
