Postal Strike And ebay.I've got a few things on my watch list on ebay at the moment.
I have to say I'm quite wary about placing a serious bid in the current climate.
Anyone else having the same thoughts???

Definitely not now you have me thinking some people may not be bidding.
I don't mind waiting an extra week or 2 for something to arrive is its a lot cheaper.
But I do want to order some books from the UK that I want here for Christmas.

From what I read postage from the UK is a gamble if you are counting on speedy delivery, some parcels go fast and others seem to be stuck somewhere. I feel sorry for UK businesses as the Christmas season comes near as the Postal Strike can have a very bad affect on the Economy. Lets hope it all gets rectified before too much more time passes

Apparently, if you send things Special Delivery, then they have to get it to you strike or not. Obviously, it costs more but it might be worth it to make sure it arrives on time.
I don't know if it works but I have a parcel comming on Tuesday by SD so we shall see.

When there's a strike they take the service off
the Special Delivery ™ guarantee has been re-instated for all items posted from , Saturday 24th.

They neglected to say that on the TV news. Oh well, lets hope they sort it out.

Before I knew of the strike, I had placed 2 orders and going off the parcel date stamp, one was a bit slow the other was fine.
I am a little bit worried about buying now. I don't mind the extra wait, but when parcels lay around, things could get lost, and then there is the paypal time limit. If an item doesn't arrive and or there is something wrong with it, and it's too late too open a dispute, the money is gone.
Worst case scenario I know, but it enters my mind.
On the other hand if it bothers others, there could be bargains

I had a Mamod MM2 with accessories posted out to me in Bangkok beginning of September. The accessories that wee packaged separately arrived last week and I’m still waiting on the engine.
I have had several things since and they all arrived within reasonable time.
That is without the strike but I guess there must have been some disruption beforehand.
