Reading toy fair 2

Here are some pictures of the new engines in my collection, purchased at the toy fair.

After only having one Ernst plank engine in my collection I came across this example. I think it is a model 358 from about 1921 -1931. Except for a replacement sight glass it is all there. The boiler is fitted with a lever safety valve, fillar plug, pressure gauge [ marked E.P] and a combined whistle and steam pipe. The engine is a single double action cylinder.

Next engine is a small but almost factory fresh Marklin with a single action fixed cylinder. The paint is perfect!!!

A boxed Bowman- Luton Pw201 missing only the burner

A boxed Plane, this version without the chimney

And finally a fine Doll line shaft in perfect condition ready for work

I hope to get the Marklin and Plank in working condition soon!!!

That Marklin looks like a museum piece, real nice. You have some fine engines there.
Les

Yet some more great engines.
Nick

Great engines!

I love the base on that Ernst Plank.

Oh, really nice engines there!
I like the plank and the marklin! Beautifull engines.

I am curious about the prices for such engine over there...
So may i ask what did you spend for the ernst plank and the marklin???
steamman

I paid £195.00 for the Ernst plank, which I feel for it's condition was just right and £140.00 for the marklin.

Hmm, alright then, this sounds to me to be fair prices.
If you would have bought them on ebay it would have been a similar price!

Steamman, I may be wrong, but IMO the water gauge can be repaired easily.
The picture is not that large, but it seems the new/wrong water gauge hav been soldered into the old original plank watergauge-screws.
Maybe you could make a close-up pic from that?

I have to ask, how much was the L5 Latimar Plane??

You have a fine collection already and you've added some lovely examples here
steamman

I paid about £40 for the L5 Plane model complete with box. I hope some time during my week off that I might fire it up!!!
Minor1PJG

That's a good price.

I paid over double that for mine (maybe it's in slightly better condition with chimney and filler funnel) but....
