Real thing or false alarm?I just got a call from my wife and she is getting a few contractions.
For those that dont know she is pregneant and the due date is the 14th of next month.
At the moment she is unsure whether they are just brackston hicks contractions (also know as false labour) or the real thing.
If you dont see me on tonight assume they are the real thing.
The most annoying thing is my car went in for its 60 000km service today, it wasnt due to next week but I put it in a week earlier so I didnt have to worry about her going into labour when my car was in bits.
Rung up the garage and the brakes are in bits so I cant get my car for another 2 hours.
If need be I will be 'borrowing' someone elses car from work.

Hope everything goes OK Tony, don't worry about the car, as you say, you can always borrow a car, have a joyfull and safe delivery if it happens.
Looks like you've been attending prenatal classes with that kind of knowledge,
I think being at the birth of your own children is the most amazing thing you can be a part of.
Cheers

Good luck Tony, another little steamer on the way.
I've gone 50p each way on wether it'll be a boy or girl.
Best wishes to the Missus.

I hope if this is the real thing all goes well.
I voted a boy as you said that he/she might be being born early, so I voted boy as they are usually quite impatient Although in my case I was lazy and born two weeks late!
Pass on my wishes to your wife

Panic over.
I've got home and the contractions seem to of stopped for now so it looks like it was a false alarm.

Not yet...... We are still not sure if its the real thing or not and contractions are still very irregular so its not time to go to the hospital yet.
Hopefully that time wont come at 2am in the morning.

Unfortunately its packed up in its box ready to be posted.
Was hoping to post it this afternoon but with all the fuss and worry about my wife going into labour I kinda forgot about it until it was too late to send.
Wife is still getting the odd contraction but still at random times so the baby may be born this weekend but then again it might not be.

Nope appears after 16 hours of contractions at random times they have stopped
Back to the waiting game again.
Which is lucky as as a member of the State Emergency Service I have an ANZAC march to take part in in 45 minutes.

When our first one was due she decided to be about two weeks late and my missus was getting pretty fed up....our doctor then told us to do the three "hots":
1) Hot curry
2) Hot bath
3) Hot sex
Duly did all three (the sacrifices you make ) and she went into labour that night.

What's a curry? Comb hair?

Come on Chuck...you need to up your diversity quotient...curry is a spice at the core of most Indian food...strong smell and flavor.
I can take it in modest doses, but having a daughter who married a Pakistani (kissin cousins to the Indians geographically), I get treated to it regularly when I visit. It used to make me gag, now I just get a bit quesy!!!
If any question on Odilon's other "hots"...best check back with him!
cheers,
Rog
