Recent Arrivals!

Well that's me back home from work and the "arrivals" collected. Here's what waiting to be opened

Talk about a kid at Christmas!
Les Marsh

What a lucky boy you are, enjoy the opening of them all.
Dampfzauberer

The engine in the upper right corner looks very interesting.
Looking forward to more pics
Minor1PJG

Ooh... what's in there
Sandman

Jeez mate, remember to keep that camera going.

Ahh Mirko! Well spotted. It's a HAMPO. This is all i know so far but i do know that the boiler electrically heated and kaput. More pics to follow!
duncandumpertruck

First one opened... It's the LOC traction engine (same as Gils) that was mentioned in eBay a while back. It's as small as i thought it would be and tremendously nice The foam in the box had disintigrated so i had to blow off all the dust.

Les Marsh

Thats nice.
johnreid

You know what your situation reminds me of?

 Christmas!
Sandman

Oh my.

Wait till manx sees that.

Beautiful.
duncandumpertruck

Here's the HAMPO pics Mirko. Any knowledge on this one?

Unfortunately the boiler is looking pretty poorly. I think that when time allows i'll assemble the gear and make a new one.

Dampfzauberer

Looks very interesting, but i have no idea.
I forwarded some pics to my pal in nuremberg...
He knows a lot about stuff like that.
So let's see what he will reply.

Just in case it is something rare, please leave it as is at the moment

Don't worry Mirko. I've got very little time these days for any renovations! It's only on the "to do" list. I like the look of the engine overall and would have no intentions of doing anything other than making a replica boiler. Let me know what your friend has to say! Thanks, Ruairidh.
duncandumpertruck

Well got to have a Mamod ehh?! It's the SP4 that came up a while ago. See how i feel about it for a while. Do like the funnel logo!

Les Marsh

Some delightful engines so far.
Steve_S

The HAPMO is interesting. It seems to have a valve system hidden in the crankshaft housing. Very neat!
tmuir

Geez I would love to come home from work and find all that waiting for me.
Love the traction engine. Can't wait to see what else is in the boxes.

Me too

Great engines so far.  Love the LOC Traction Engine.   Is that still available or only when they come up on e bay?

There has to be a launch or Marine Engine in there somewhere.

Am I right?
tmuir

You can only find the traction engine on ebay now I think.
The only commercial miniture launch I'm aware of was philcrafts but I'm pretty sure he only made those in very limitted numbers and isn't making them now but you can always ask him.
Wallace

Great to see these additions
markos

Wow that would be nice to walk home to. The traction engine is stunning. Do show what else is in the other boxes.

Ok, I've seen it. I want one. What a great little model.     Something else to add to my want list.

Yes there's a marine engine in there somewhere! It's the larger box on the bottom. I'm saving it to open last The LOC occasionally comes up on eBay. I think i've seen them twice or three times in the last couple of years. They had a range available at one time. The traction engine, a mill engine plant and a Rocket Loco. In actual fact all three of these have been on eBay.de in the last four months. I only went for the traction engine and kicked myself for not bidding on the mill plant. The Rocket loco is really minute but not really my thing so i left it be. If you look in Gils "i'm the new guy" thread there's a pic with the traction engine and a postcard beside it showing the the others in the range. More pics of other engines later!!!
andysleigh

its like christmas all over again for you
duncandumpertruck

Here's one that i'll leave with you for a while. Any idea what's inside?!

tmuir

It's not an engine in a walnut shell is it?
Minor1PJG

The little traction engine is lovely.

I think you need to take another look at your jigsaw puzzle as I think I spotted you have a couple of pieces in the wrong places
Les Marsh

A miniature beam engine.

My friend told me he does not knwo that engine.
He never heard of the name before, too.
So must be something special, he said.
That's also my opinion.
Maybe you should leave it as is and drive it by another, external boiler?
duncandumpertruck

I would have liked to have had the engine in a walnut but it's actually a Lou Racioppo engine. It has a cylinder with a 0.060"/ 1.5mm bore

Sandman

Oh my goodness, what a treasure.

I could hardly believe my eyes.

What an exquisite little engine.
Les Marsh

That is exquisite.
duncandumpertruck

It's a little Gem isn't it?! I bought that before Christmas so it was four months before i saw it due to it taking a journey through Canada before arriving in the UK.

Well the rest of the engines are opened and it was all worth waiting for      Pics in a min.
duncandumpertruck

Austrian Lamp and Generator. I think a few other forum members have this. Quite a bit bigger than i expected.

duncandumpertruck

Bohm HB22 like Beges. Very nice!

Size comparison with the HB14

duncandumpertruck

This one is a big "HMMMMMM" i do wonder what had come over me the day that this one came up. It's not really to my taste Of course it would be great if anyone has any ideas of what it might have looked like.

It does have a sightglass but surely this one isn't original?!

duncandumpertruck

Fleischmann 125/4. This one is beeeeautiful! Time for a few Fleischmann accessories?!

By the look of the burner tray and the general condition i'd say it's only been fired once.
Les Marsh

They are all wonderful    and the last one, not sure what it is but does have the remains of a Doll & Cie logo.
duncandumpertruck

The Gakkens!

johnreid

Wow, that is a nice looking Fleischmann, I sure like my 122/4 Real nice machines.
Sandman

How many goodies can we take in one thread??

That Fleischmann looks in mint condition.

I like these engines and one in that condition is very hard to find.

Excellent stuff.
duncandumpertruck

This one is a hoot. 40 pounds plus postage. It's big and ugly but well made. Weighs about 15kgs  Doubt i'll keep this one for long.

duncandumpertruck

Here's the Wilesco BEWAG D6. Unfortunately after rooting around in the box for an age i couldn't find the chimney. I went back to the sale page and after reading a little closer noticed that it didn't come with one! I must use the translator a little more carefully next time. With that being the case, I'm on the hunt for a nice D6 chimney

duncandumpertruck

Here is the Turbine Plant now! It has taken one or two small knocks in the post but i'll get all that sorted. It's also not 100% finished so that'll also need looking into. Does anyone know a good source for M2 or smaller nuts and bolts? I'll need a few for this one. It's about the right size for fitting in a canoe

Fearsome looking burner.

Electrically driven feed water pump.

Turbine with condenser underneath and reduction gearbox.

Beside a Gintschel Turbine.

Gauges and glasses.

Dampfzauberer

The wilesco chimney will be hard work to get:
You wouln't need the brick-wall chimney but a plain metall wilesco chimney (they only made them for THIS engine)
You can see it on the firebox = no bricks
Maybe get a normal wilesoc chimney and paint it green?
Les Marsh

That is Very impressive.

I was thinking that Mirko. It was originally a blue straight chimney. The seller at the time also had a complete one for sale and showed my engine with the chimney. So then. IF anyone knows of a plain straight chimney for a D6 let me know! I think that i will probably be resigned to not having an original one on this.

This is how it should look
Dampfzauberer

Oh, okay...then it's blue and nor green
duncandumpertruck

Last but not least. This one is a Jean Combi Unis from around the 1960s (i think) It's one of my new favorites.

duncandumpertruck

For any of you who may have also been following the progress of the jigsaw puzzle that's been in many of my pics my girlfriend hopes to complete it tonight!!!
Les Marsh

We have had an extraordinary treat tonight, thankyou very much.
Dampfzauberer

Where is the  2-Euro Coin when i need one?

Can you please tell me the size of its engine/ flywheel??
duncandumpertruck

Of course I can! The flywheel is 10cms Diameter, Boiler is 8cms by 18cms.

And a pic with the 2 euro

Dampfzauberer

WOW, that's big!
Maybe i will get me also such an engine...
I like the boxer-motor look of the engine!
oldstuff

Jeez, that's awesome. Jean Combi Unis...unis mean united?
johnreid

Truly a thing of Beauty, that is so nice.

Also, you now have to post a picture of the completed puzzle, OK?
Wallace

Some beautiful engines there. Great to look at and thanks for posting.

Ruairdh,

No offense to your girlfriend, but how is one supposed to notice a puzzle, when a seemingly endless parade of beautiful steam engines is passing by on top.  Very, very impressive.  Liked the almost mint Fleischmann 125/4 in the latest batch.

How did it come to pass that so many engines arrived at once?

Can you teach me that trick?

The reason behind the engines being opened all at once is that i bought them over the space of nine weeks while i was working abroad on the last ship! They've been piling up at home waiting for my arrival
